You might think, “Sure, Laura! You’re headed to the book fair at the Plymouth Library this Saturday because you have a book to sell. ”
“Well, kind of.”
But I don’t think about it that way since my journey to Servant Leadership.
Mindfulness allowed me to slow down and look at moments in life like these and see them for the great thing they are. An opportunity to connect. An opportunity to change something for someone. Or an opportunity to learn.
And servant leadership has me always focused on taking myself out of the picture and instead focusing my energy on where I can help. In this case, what can I do to advertise, market and campaign for the wonderful group of authors that will be there this Saturday (check out the great author list and books here.) I am going to buy some books for Mother’s and Father’s Day!
But it doesn’t stop there.
I can advertise in Facebook groups where my children attend school. What a great chance for an up and coming generation of future authors to be able to meet real authors and discuss the career path.
And if nothing else, I have to admit that having my daughter work the booth along side me is just a clever way of letting her see what being involved a community is all about.
I never know where these moments lead. “Inspiring Bold” was born from following similar moments like these. I just recognize that these are the opportunities life presents me and I need to figure out what I can give to it.
Please join an incredible group of authors this Saturday!
